Auguste Renoir
A master of Impressionism, Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841–1919) was primarily a painter of figures. Although he first worked in the open air alongside Monet, he then returned to the study of masters, especially those of the 18th century, who significantly influenced him. He does many nudes and portraits. A painter with a sensual touch and a luminous palette, he is, in the popular imagination, associated with the themes of women and children. He was able to give a happy image of the family universe.
