Titian

The most remarkable portrait painter of his time, Tiziano Vecellio, known as Titian (1488–1576), was one of the greatest names in the Venetian school during the Cinquecento (Italian 16th century). His ease, his ability to grasp the psychology of his models, and his opulent palette have placed him in the ranks of Michelangelo and Raphael. Titian has established himself both as the most powerful portrait painter of his time (from the Pope to Charles V) but also as a painter of women, sensitive and sensual.
